The Projects Are Stacking Up

Project 4 of 13:

My cute friend, Tiffany has "craft classes" each month at her house.
As much as I like to create cute stuff, I go more to have a night out with friends.
Especially since the group of "friends" includes my mom and sisters!
So, I'll just let Tiff take over from here and explain the how-to's.
PLEASE read her adorable blog for this project.
I take NO credit for coming up with this one.

I do love me a stack of books, though. Don't you?

For The Love of Banners! Project 3

Ya know how I say "I don't sew?" Well, this is by far my favorite banner, sewing, Halloween project, evah!
I thought it out all by myself! And I even remembered to take lots of photos along the way!
Woot! Woot!
I gathered a whole bunch of oranges, yellows and whites. Some I bought, others I stole from my sista! But it's not really stealing if she knows, right? You see- she has so much fabric that she offered me to take some. I'm sure her husband would be over-joyed if I would haul out a TON of it. Fat chance, Ben!
I cut the fabric in strips with my pinking shears. I love those things so much! Then I placed them onto batting with a solid yellow (bottom fabric in photo) on the back. I sewed down the strips.
I cut out candy corn shapes and sewed around them. I decided I didn't like how bright the fabric was. There's one way to tone that down: TEA DYE! Bee-U-tiful!

I cut out black fabric letters with my Cricut and different fonts. And cut out the word "or." I sewed the letters onto the candy corns, which took me forever because of the teeny tiny letter curves. Sew the candy corns together at the points, sew ribbon and connect the "or," then finish by making hangers with ribbon on the ends. Oh my! I could just stare at this banner all. day. long!
I think I may even have enjoyed sewing?
That may be going a little far...

I HAVE LINKED UP OVER AT Sassy Sites and at TT&J! Go check out all the fun going on over there!

Project 2 and 2 1/2

Lucky You! You get a bonus project today. "Witch" is really a product. Keep reading, it'll all make sense.

So, I like to look at magazines and see little creative ideas or projects and think "I can do that." And that's where this project came from.
But you know those times when you have all the confidence that you can do and it just doesn't turn out the way you see it in your mind? Uh huh!

Project 2 of 13

Let's get started: 2 ft. 1x4, sand paper, spray paint, vinyl and some glitter. Oh, and some Mod Podge and saw tooth picture hangers.
Sand, spray paint, sand again. Cut vinyl letters. Place them on the board. Paint Mod Podge on pretty thick and sprinkle with glitter. Spray the board with clear spray paint to seal on the glitter. Nail the hangers onto the back. I used 2.

As soon as I get this on my porch with my witches broom, hat and shoes, I'll have to take another picture. Maybe I'll like it better with it's accessories? Because right now, I'm not in love. But at least you can envision some possibilites...

And project product 2 1/2:

My tomato plants went crazy this year. This one tomato had a mind of it's own. It grew a nose! "Witch" looks just like a witch nose. Ya think? I just had to make a hat and give it some hair for a little photo shoot.
I don't expect that you'll attempt this project, because quite honestly, I don't think I can do it again. :)

My First Project and Passion

I don't know if I've ever revealed that waaay back in another day, I used to scrapbook! Like get out the glue and stickers and cardstock and pictures! Oh yes, those were the days. Scrapbooking was my first real creative passion. My use of glue and stickers and cardstock has evolved, thank goodness. But it seems, these days, I don't ever have enough time to make those memories into anything but saved photos on my external hard drive.

Project 1 of 13:
A Halloween Scrapbook Page.
The date on the page will confirm the above mentioned lack of time!
Aww, I could just stare at those little monsters chillens forever!

Each month DCWV has a "stack-a-holic" sketch challenge. {Now that I think about it, I may have mentioned that before on my blog.} Anywho... I decided to take the challenge again. Which is probably wise since I need to "catch-up" like seriously on my books. Even though I am not a "stack-a-holic" like others, the bar has been set pretty high for that, I have a few stacks and love to use them!  I love DCWV paper stacks, but I don't have nearly what other people have! The one used for this page is Midnight Spell. It's so super cute. I'm a sucker for cute Halloween paper! I'm still amazed at how well the colors matched my kids' costumes. I love banners, I may have mentioned that here also? Yes? And bright colored monsters with one eye? Really, aren't they the cutest?!

1 project down, 12 more to go. Hold on tight...

13, such a scary number

My mind works goes 24/7. Seriously, I lose so much sleep over the silliest of things! So, lately I've been stirring around the idea of how to post all the awesome-ness (I borrowed that word from MANDI) that I'm creating for Halloween. Do I throw it all into one post? Split it up into a couple posts, so as not to overwhelm anyone? Do a daily this-is-the-cutest-project-ever post?

Can you see why I lose sleep?

Then it hit me. And thank goodness it wasn't a brick cuz then you would never be able to see all of my creations cuz I'd be unconscious.
Yes, 13 days of Halloween! Because I have 13 projects! Right? Are you with me? Since most weekends are totally consumed by work and work and family and crazy-ness, I will start posting a project a day, starting TODAY (x-nay weekends) and then the final wrap up will be on October 13th. Genius? Hey, it took alot of thinking. Play along...

Warning: Project Overload Coming Soon

This blog has been quiet lately. And I apologize for that.
But since this blog hasn't been around for a Halloween season yet,(yes, Halloween IS a season in my world) you better hold on to your seat. I've got so many projects for the spooky holiday up my sleeve. It's almost scary!

You see, HAlLoweEn is my favoritest (that's a word in my world) holiday EVER, EVER, EVER! Okay, it is my birthday, yes, on Halloween. And who doesn't get excited for their birthday? But I just love to decorate for Halloween. I don't like gore and guts. I don't like scary spiders. I'm not into extreme yard decorating. I like more "cute-sy" stuff. Stuff that isn't like everyone else's. Stuff that I can make or buy and alter to make it my own. Okay, I admit, I like to alter everything- not just when it comes to decorating for Halloween.

So, if ya just be patient a day or two longer, you'll see this blog light up with projects for Halloween.
Are you ready?
